About the role
Great engineering still needs someone who owns the path from a client's goal to a shipped outcome. As a Delivery Lead, you are that person: you scope the work, set a realistic pace, keep the right people unblocked, and hold the honest conversation when reality and the plan diverge.
You are the bridge between clients and a small, senior team. You translate business goals into clear scope, protect the team's focus, and make sure the client always knows where things stand. You add structure where it helps and resist process for its own sake.
This role is fully remote and open to candidates based in the United States. You will own delivery outcomes with real autonomy — and the trust that comes with a senior team.
What you'll do
- Own delivery of client engagements end to end — scope, timeline, budget, and outcome.
- Translate client goals into clear, prioritized scope the team can act on.
- Keep projects on track: anticipate risk, unblock the team, and adjust the plan early and honestly.
- Be the primary point of contact for clients — clear, proactive, and trustworthy.
- Run a calm, sustainable cadence; default to async and written updates over status meetings.
- Spot scope creep and trade-offs early, and lead the conversation about them.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years leading delivery of software projects, ideally in an agency or consultancy.
- A strong grasp of how modern software is built — enough to earn engineers' trust and call trade-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with both clients and technical teams.
- Calm under pressure, with sharp judgment about risk and priority.
- Genuine ownership — you carry outcomes, not just status reports.
- Comfort working async-first across a fully remote team.
Nice to have
- A background in engineering, product, or design before moving into delivery.
- Experience delivering AI, data, or platform projects.
- A toolkit of lightweight practices you reach for — and the wisdom to know when not to.
